$ (millions) - the total net revenue as supplied in the latest annual report from each company.
Year - The majority of accounts are for 2003-2004, click the year to link to the report.
Percentage split between territories - this is a calculation of the percentage of net revenue that is derived from each of the main world territories. In some cases the annual reports only gave information on domestic sales and export sales, in such cases this is reflected in the category "International".

Additional Notes

Every effort was made to ensure the figures above are accurate and represent revenue derived from games (hardware and software). In cases where the company is also involved in other businesses the segment information in the annual report was used to isolate the game related revenue (this applies to Sony, Microsoft and Vivendi).

Figures for the the main console manufacturers listed above include both hardware and software sales. Some companies, particularly Japanese businesses, also have an arcade businesses (hardware and facilities), the figures above include revenues from these activities.

Some companies did not supply any information on sales by geographic region. Microsoft gave a figure for all their activities of 68% in the US and 32% from international sales, but this is not an accurate reflection of sales from the Home and Entertainment division.
